Job Context

    To establish and manage profitably and efficiently the UTI Sylhet, a residential training institute in Sylhet city and support other hospitality & tourism related UCEP business ventures as effective social enterprise in line with UCEP Bangladesh’s values, vision, mission, goals and relevant country laws.

Job Responsibilities

  • Take proactive and innovative interventions to develop and manage the UTI Sylhet and Tourism & Hospitality portfolio as a social enterprise of UCEP Bangladesh with the aim to gain visibility, viability and sustainability.
  • Develop and implement annual budget and business goals, including revenue plan.
  • Develop and oversee marketing and communication activities and campaigns for effective brand building and brand promotion.
  • Manage administrative functions in relation to UTI Sylhet and UCEP Tourism & Hospitality portfolio including its procurement, asset management, repair and maintenance, utilities, insurance, safety and security.
  • Ensure all relevant policies and guidelines of UCEP Bangladesh are adhered to.
  • Ensure effective and efficient management of budget and accounts.
  • Ensure system up gradation through necessary record keeping, documentation, project management and business management processes.
  • Ensure strict governance and rigorous compliance practices as per country law.
  • Practice and promote concepts of value for money, cost effectiveness and Do-No-Harm approach.
  • Establish and maintain collaboration and coordination with all other teams / departments within the Social Enterprise Development unit and all other entities at central and regional levels of UCEP Bangladesh.
  • Promote and contribute to ongoing efforts towards gender equity & equality, child/staff protection & safeguard, inclusiveness, accessibility and discrimination free environment in the workplace and operations/activities/plans.
  • Ensure that all kind of management reports (e.g. weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) are prepared, organized and shared in a regular basis.
  • Ensure implementation of Decent Work principles especially Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) following Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards.
  • Ensure that safety and security systems are fully functional in case of necessity/emergency.
  • Supervise and ensure quality performance of the workforce including casual labors, short-term contract and long-term contract staffs, outsourced HR services etc.

Educational Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor degree in Business Administration, however, candidates with marketing background would be preferable.

Experience Requirements

  • At least 4 year(s)

Additional Requirements

  • Age at most 35 years
  • Minimum 04 years of relevant professional experience in renowned organization in similar position.
  • Highly focused, have excellent communication skills, be motivated and professional in appearance and presentation.
  • Excellent computer operating skill & conversant with MS Office package, social marketing and e-commerce tools i.e. Facebook, twitter etc.
  • Knowledge of sales and marketing modules like Delphi, Opera, S&M, Protel S&M etc.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure, trouble-shoot, and meet short- and long-term deadlines.
  • Management has the right to make exceptions based on qualifications.
