Job Context
  • The Leprosy Mission International-Bangladesh (TLMI-B) is an International Christian faith based organization dealing with causes and consequences of Leprosy & TB, ranging from health and development to advocacy and empowering community as a partner of Government of Bangladesh to achieve its long term strategy and goal.
  • TLMI-B is implementing a TB Control Project for "Integrated Tuberculosis Care and Prevention, for Enhancing Case Findings, Health System Strengthening and Sustainability", supported by GFATM under The Danish Bangladesh Leprosy Mission Hospital Program (DBLM) of TLMI-B invites application from the suitable candidates to fulfill the following position immediately. The position will be based at the project office Thakurgaon with frequent field visit.
Job Responsibilities
  • Planning:
  • Support the TB team and prepare annual work plan and monthly action plan.
  • Support higher management in decision making.
  • b) Implementation:
  • Coordinate and provide support in activities for TB programme in the relevant geographic areas.
  • Support to identify training need and ensure training to concerned staff.
  • Supervise and provide technical support to ensure anti-TB treatment according to NTP guidelines including Directly Observed Treatment.
  • Supervise and provide support for proper recording of patients and updating information to ensure improved case detection and treatment success.
  • Coordinate and provide support in referral of presumptive and complicated cases to designated diagnostic facilities for enhanced case notification and case management.
  • Facilitate monthly and quarterly staff meetings to review progress and develop actions for further improvement of the program.
  • Coordinate and provide support in availability of anti-TB drugs and other supplies.
  • Attend the project related meetings to get informed on project activities, strategies, policies and goals and seek inputs and directions.
  • Prepare action-taking report monthly based on previous findings.
  • c) Monitoring, supervision and coordination:
  • Maintain regular coordination with Government, BRAC & other stakeholders in implementing TB activities.
  • Ensure contact tracing actively in respective area for strengthening case findings.
  • Monitor project activities and supervise the work through regular field visit and providing technical support.
  • Supervise and coordinate quality assurance and surveillance system.
  • d) Reporting and dissemination:
  • Ensure timely, accurate and complete reporting as per guidelines.
  • Prepare and submit periodic field visit report as per action plan.
  • Ensure any other report to BRAC and NTP as and when necessary.

Educational Requirements
  • MBBS Degree from any recognized university (MPH preferable).
  • Any third division/class in academic career will lead to ineligibility.
Experience Requirements
  • At least 2 year(s)
Additional Requirements
  • Age at most 45 years
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in related field and/or area of health program operation.
  • Knowledge on TB and Leprosy is essential.
  • Commendable knowledge in health and social structures of Bangladesh.
  • Strong administrative, managerial and motivational skill.
  • Knowledge in MS Office, e.g. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Good Interpersonal, oral and written Communication skill.
  • The candidate should be willing to drive motor cycle and equipped with a valid driving license as the position requires regular field visit within the project working areas of Thakurgaon and Panchgar districts.
